Acupressure and Acupuncture is a science and a rational method of treatment.
Acupuncture is natural inbuilt mechanism provided in a human body by the creator for the treatment of all types of human disease both physical and metaphysical without intake of anything orally from outside to inside the body but with the help of pressure or puncture at certain points on its energy pathways which are called meridian.
How does it work?
This method of treatment is all about balancing of Qi(energy), blood, essence and body fluids in the body itself. By balancing these the disease gets cured automatically.
Our body is a complicated structure. The smallest part is called cell and cells combine to form tissue. These tissues by their special functions form organs of the body and these organs combine to form important body system and these important body systems forms the whole body.
These are basic principles of body through which effects of acupoints channelized.
Acupressure and Acupuncture therapy have been prevalent in India since ancient times as it is mentioned in our Vedas and puranas. An example is widely cited, during Mahabharat, Bisham Pitamah lay on the battle field on a bed of arrows and waited for his wishful death.
Even though Acupressure/Acupuncture therapy originated in India, it was not adopted as a complete therapy here. Then for hundreds of years it remains in china and been practiced on masses. This therapy remains confined to China for hundreds of years, but with time, visits of scientists to China from western countries this knowledge reached the west and then spread throughout the world.
It’s a human nature to accept any external knowledge, after testing it with his own standards and this tendency has resulted in its acceptance in different countries in different forms.
Many Principles of Acupressure and Acupuncture have become prevalent. Some Important Principles and methods of treatment are as follows:
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): –
According to TCM entire cosmos is around two forces YIN and Yang. In this system cosmos and the human body is formed by 5 element system- Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Diagnosis and treatment of all diseases in human body is based on these five elements.
Ayurvedic Acupressure: –
Ayurveda is a holistic Indian philosophy of life. In Ayurvedic acupressure principle says it cosmos is formed of 5 physical and 5 metaphysical elements. According to Ayurveda 5 physical elements are- Akash, Vayu, Agni, Jal, Prithvi and 5 metaphysical elements are kaal, disha, mann, atma and Tam.
Cosmos and the human body is the result of the synergy of the physical and metaphysical elements. The combination of these physical elements results in three forces- Vaat, Pitta, Kapha.
These are also called Tridosha.
Attack of any disease is thus a result of some energy imbalances. If some energy is transported to the place where it is reduced or reduced where it is excess, the body would be balanced and healthy. To remove these energy imbalances pathways are required. Energy continuously flows in these paths in the body to keep body live, active and harmonious.
Colour Therapy: –
This therapy works on the principles of TCM and Ayurvedic Acupressure only. Only the difference to adopt this therapy is to use colours on the pathways of meridian. As it is said every meridian has its own colour and pathways, so accordingly the deficiency or excess of any energy can be balanced through these colours followed by principles.
This therapy is a micro system which reflects entire body corresponds to the Ear itself. Here treatment is been given on auricle (outer surface of ear). Auricular therapy includes acupuncture administered by its specific seeds and needles.
Sujok Therapy: –
This is healthcare modality of treatment which is done on the palm and sole region in conformity of body, As the meridians which are flowing through body channels have the correspondence pathway from palms and sole itself. To alleviate pathological condition
Neuro Acupuncture: –
This technique of treatment integrates needling on scalp region. It is a safe and effective way of treatment, mainly used with neuroscience.
Neuroscience is concerned functioning of nervous system along with brain cell development and physicist’s disorder.
It has certain examination parameters to diagnosis the patient with disease, which plays an active and central role in treatment. That observation is through:
- Tongue Diagnosis
Through body’s outer appearance, symptoms, signs and disease condition of a functioning of a body organ can be judged and treated.
For example- According to acupuncture, if a person is not able to take a decision, that person has deficiency in Gall bladder. If we treat that deficiency with energy balancing within body that person’s decision-making skills will be active.
Cause of Disease: –
According to acupuncture/acupressure balance within body is the key to lead healthy life. Balance between work and Rest, Balance in diet, thoughts, sexual activities, emotions, climate etc maintains balance in body.
Out of these if some imbalance stays for longer period of time or interval leads to disease within body.
